In the neighboring country of Bosnia and Herzegovina, political issues prevent newborn babies from obtaining a Unique Master Citizen Number (locally known as JMBG). This further prevents them from possessing documents (such as passports) and fulfilling their rights to travel, get medically treated etc.

One of those babies, Berina Hamidović was a victim to the Bosnian administration. She died as she was unable to leave the country and get the necessary treatment abroad.
